THROWBACK: Amitabh Bachchan once caught Katrina Kaif locking lips with Gulshan Grover in a closed room!

Katrina Kaif is currently one of Bollywood’s most popular actresses. She has worked with the top three Khans of Bollywood, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, and Shah Rukh Khan, and has a long list of blockbuster hits to her credit. Katrina, on the other hand, suffered mightily in her early days in the profession to get noticed. Thanks to her bold sequences with Gulshan Grover in the 2003 black comedy thriller Boom, she had everyone talking about her. Amitabh Bachchan once witnessed Katrina locking lips with Gulshan Grover in a confined room while filming on the set, which made things unpleasant for them.

Katrina and Gulshan were scheduled to film an intimate sequence in which the two were to share a passionate kiss while she attempted to entice him. Before filming, the two had practised the lip-lock for two hours in a locked room. Amitabh came into the room as they were practising the sequence and cheered them on, making things even more difficult for Gulshan, who was already worried about shooting the moment. The scene, however, had to be cut from the film due to its over-the-top nature, which thrust Katrina into the spotlight.

Gulshan remarked in an interview with Siddharth Kannan that his infamous kissing scene with Katrina was exaggerated. He confirmed that they had rehearsed the dialogue and scene, but it wasn’t how it was depicted in tabloids.

When Gulshan was told that Katrina doesn’t remember the scene, he responded, “I am a more experienced actor and I have been in the industry for many years. I have never looked back and I am rising every day. Mera yeh manna hai that jo kaam kardiya hai ek kalakaar ne ya koi tasveer khich gayi hai ya koi video ban gaya, it’s a part of history and aapke dabane se ya na baat karne se koi fayda nahi hai. Every celebrity needs to acknowledge it. In the world of social media and electronic media, it will only magnify and not die down.”

He had further added, “With heroines, the problem was more to do with the fact that they didn’t look glamorous enough in their previous photos and videos when they started their careers as they felt they looked ‘behenji’ types. With time when you get more glamorous and your fashion charm increases, actresses don’t want their old pictures to circulate. I have gone to many agencies wherein I have heard that actresses want to get rid of older videos and pictures.”
