Filmmaker Karan Johar’s much talked about chat show Koffee With Karan has been making headlines ever since it premiered.
The show had been running for nearly two decades. So many film stars and filmmakers have graced Karan Johar’s couch as guests on the popular talk show over the course of seven seasons. However, there are still some big names who have never appeared as guests on the show, and Karan Johar believes that will continue for at least a few of them. Karan revealed the two celebrities who are unlikely to appear on the show in a recent interview.
Koffee With Karan premiered on Star World in 2005. The seventh season premiered last month, shifting from television to online. It is available on Disney+ Hotstar. Almost every major Bollywood personality has appeared as a guest on the show during its 17-year run.
Karan Johar was recently asked by The Hindu if there was any celebrity he couldn’t get on the show despite his best efforts. He responded, “Well, I did bring it up once with Rekha ma’am, even as recently as a couple of seasons ago. I was very keen to have her appear on the show, but she wasn’t convinced. But after that, I felt she has such an exotic, beautiful mystery about her… it has to be protected always. So I didn’t push it after that.”
In the same interview, Karan mentioned his friend and mentor Aditya Chopra and how getting him on the show would be difficult. “Will I ever have Adi on KWK… I mean, I think I’m not brave enough to even ask him, right,” Karan said.
Vicky Kaushal and Sidharth Malhotra appeared on the most recent episode of Koffee With Karan. Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani, stars of Kabir Singh, will appear on the couch this week. Every Thursday at midnight, new episodes of the show are released on Disney plus Hotstar.
