The Sky is Pink reaches Toronto International Film Festival 2019
A big news for the makers of The Sky Is Pink as the film will not be getting screened at Toronto International Film Festival popularly known as TIFF this year. The film has Farhan Akhtar, Priyanka Chopra, Zaira Wasim and Rohit Saraf int he lead role. The film is directed by Shonali Bose and interesting it is her third movie that has reached the prestigious TIFF. The film is a love story dealing with the romance and love of Aditi and Niren Chaudhary, which seems to span over 25 years.
The story is showcased through the lens of their daughter called Aisha Chaudhary who is diagnosed with an ailment called pulmonary fibrosis (terminal illness). Priyanka Chopra got into this film from the very first day when she first heard the story from the makers. Talking about the same, the director said that the film from Shonali Bose has the knack of renewing the trust in life and faith with this film. This is the reason why she also in its production venture along with Siddharth Roy Kapur and Ronnie Screwvala.
Earlier Sonali has worked with Ronnie Screwvala with the film Mard Ko Dard Nahi sizzlinga. Talking about the same, he said it is his honor to work with the lady and see his film getting screened at TIFF. He also said that the moment he first heard of the story, he knew it will appeal to the audience. The story has Aditi played by Zaira who is 13 years of age and she moves on with the ailment and becomes a motivational speaker after her diagnosis. She also writes a book, My Little Epiphanies. She is seen in events like TEDx, and INK conferences with a positive attitude and energy. However, she loses her life breathing last in 2015 when she was 18.
