Amidst a decent buzz for the film The Sky Is Pink, the makers released it this Friday. However, it hit the screens when the Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff’ starrer film War is just on the way to become the highest grosser at the box office. The film, therefore, was affected at the box office to some extent for obvious reasons as both the films are of different genres. War is liked by all, while TKIP is an emotional drama, which somewhere down the line happens to be a niche film.
Now, if you look at the way the film has performed at the box office, it seemed hampered. As per reports, the film started with the occupancy of around 20 to 30 percent, which escalated in the evening shows, but it failed to impress the audience in a big way as they had the other choice called War, which is an action thriller a preferred choice for people over any emotional drama. Secondly, the film was not promoted in a way it should have been in the media.
As per reports, the 1st-day box office collection for The Sky Is Pink was not less than 6.25 Crores. The film only did a decent response at the multiplexes since it catered to the urbane crowd more than the rural ones who often like masala movies like War and other similar genre films. However, the movie is expected to create some amount of word of mouth buzz in the media, which is likely to boost up the collection at the box office. Thus one can expect the film to collect 20 to 25 Crores at the box office on its first-weekend collection.
