‘The Revenge’ Makes History: Post-Midnight Shows Added Before Release, DDLJ Shifts Timing to Accommodate Epic Runtime

The much-awaited sequel Dhurandhar: The Revenge is already creating waves even before its official release. In an unprecedented move, theatres have started scheduling post-midnight and early-morning shows to meet the overwhelming demand for the film. This makes it the first Hindi film in history to secure such late-night and early-morning screenings prior to release.
As of 3:00 pm on March 16, theatres in Mumbai and beyond have started bookings for post-midnight shows on Thursday, March 19, the day the film releases globally.
Post-Midnight Show Frenzy in Mumbai
In Mumbai alone, several theatres have embraced this trend, adding special late-night and early-morning shows to cater to eager fans:
- MovieMax Sion: Shows at 2:15 am, 3:15 am, and 5:30 am
- MovieMax Wonder Mall, Thane: Four shows at 2:15 am, 3:00 am, 4:20 am, and 5:20 am
- MovieMax SM5 Kalyan: Two late-night shows added
- MovieMax Kanjurmargand MovieMax Andheri East: Each has one post-midnight show
Beyond Mumbai: Pune and Other Cities Join the Craze
The excitement isn’t limited to Mumbai. Other cities have also followed suit:

- MovieMax Amanora Town Centre: Shows at 2:00 am, 2:30 am, 4:00 am, and 5:00 am
- MovieMax Gold, Kalyani Nagar: Shows at 2:15 am and 3:15 am

- LHD Cinemas Chandkhedaand The Cinestar Multiplex SP Ring Road have begun post-midnight bookings
- Surat:

According to industry insiders, many more theatres across Mumbai and other cities are expected to add such screenings in the coming days due to the overwhelming buzz.
DDLJ Adjusts Timings to Accommodate ‘The Revenge’
The ripple effect of Dhurandhar: The Revenge’s mammoth runtime of 235 minutes (3 hours and 55 minutes) has even reached Mumbai’s iconic Maratha Mandir, home to the eternal Bollywood classic Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ).For years, DDLJ has been screened daily at 11:30 am, but starting March 18, the showtime has been shifted to 10:00 am to accommodate Dhurandhar: The Revenge.
At Maratha Mandir, the sequel will now screen at:
- 1:15 pm
- 5:30 pm
- 9:45 pm
