The GOAT Box Office Collection Prediction Day 1: Likely to Take A Good Start though will miss The 50 Crore Mark

Thalapaty Vijay’s The Greatest Of All Time, also known as The GOAT, has made a remarkable debut, emerging as the biggest Kollywood opener of 2024 by surpassing Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2. However, despite the strong opening, it fell short of the enormous expectations set for it, with early trends indicating a collection of less than 50 crores on its first day. For a detailed box office report, keep reading! The GOAT marks Vijay’s 68th film and is rumored to be one of his last before he fully transitions into politics. This anticipation was palpable among fans, evident in the impressive advance bookings at the Indian box office. On opening day, ticket sales reached an astounding 28.90 crores before the first show even began.
On Day 1, theaters across the country experienced packed houses, fueled by the emotional connection fans have with Vijay, who is gracing the big screen for what could be one of his final performances. Given the hype, many expected the film to cross the 50 crore mark, but it ultimately fell short, with early estimates suggesting a net collection of 42-46 crores. This figure is significantly lower than Vijay’s previous film, Leo, which opened with 66 crores, marking a decline of approximately 30-36%.Interestingly,
The GOAT did not receive the anticipated support from the Telugu states, and even in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka, it underperformed despite solid occupancy during morning and afternoon shows. Nonetheless, The GOAT has officially claimed the title of the highest Kollywood opener of 2024, surpassing Indian 2, which grossed 26 crores. Globally, it has also emerged as the biggest Tamil opener of the year, showcasing Vijay’s enduring star power. Stay tuned to know more about it and others only with us.
