It was not just the bad first day for the film but also the bad first weekend as well. The film was able to collect only 50 lakhs on the first day and it continued to perform the same on the first weekend giving not just a minimal figure but more than the minimal one at the box office. The movie having Emraan Hashmi and Rishi Kapoor in the led roles has failed at the box office. Although the reviews for the film were mixed it seems that the makers failed to attract the audience in the big way.
The promotion of the film has remained low that has failed to garner much buzz around it. Even the trailer released without any promotion making it go unnoticed. The star value of the film seemed okay as it witnessed the comeback of Rishi Kapoor who was away to the US for his cancer treatment but somewhere it has not helped the movie. Also, the competition posed by other movies like Mardaani 2 and Jumanji The Nex level releasing on the same day did the damage.
The rest of the competition came from the Kartik Aaryan film Pati Patni Aur Woh. Well, with these issues, the second-day collection was 75 lakhs, while the collection on Sunday was not less than 1 Crores. With these figures, the first-weekend box office collection for The Body tolled to around 2.25 Crores. The makers barely created any kind of buzz in the media for its presence in the theatres that somewhere failed to attract the audience despite being an intriguing suspense thriller.
