Chidiya Poster Unveiled: A Poetic Ode to Undying Childhood Dreams, Releasing May 23

Smiley Films, in collaboration with Reliance Entertainment, has unveiled the official poster for Chidiya, a poetic drama set to hit theaters across India on May 23, 2025.Written and directed by Mehran Amrohi, Chidiya serves as a poignant tribute to the unseen struggles children face in their pursuit of dreams.

Set against the backdrop of a Mumbai chawl, the narrative follows two spirited brothers, Shanu and Bua, who transform a discarded junkyard into a makeshift badminton court. Armed with nothing but their imagination, hope, and the support of their mother and community, they strive to chase a dream that far exceeds their modest circumstances.

What adds to the film’s uniqueness is its journey; Chidiya was completed nearly a decade ago and has traveled through various international festivals, quietly capturing hearts and garnering accolades along the way. Its long road to release reflects the very themes it embodies: patience, belief, and the beauty of dreams that take time to unfold.Director Mehran Amrohi remarked, “Chidiya is a love letter to childhood—a film about dreaming with your eyes open, especially when life tells you not to. This film is a gentle reminder that hope is always in fashion.” The film features a talented cast, including Vinay Pathak, Amrutha Subhash, Inaamulhaq, Brijendra Kala, and standout child actors Svar Kamble, Ayush Pathak, and Hetal Gada. It beautifully blends poetic realism with emotional depth, complemented by music from Shailendra Barve and distributed by Reliance Entertainment.
