Tamil TV actor Lokesh Rajendran committed suicide at the age of 34

Very bad news has come out from the Tamil TV industry. 34-year-old Lokesh Rajendran has committed suicide. He was most known for his work as a kid artist in the popular serial Marmadesam or Vidaadhu Karuppu. His wife and two kids have survived him. The actor was allegedly an alcoholic who had family issues due to which he was frequently observed dozing off at the Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus. The CrPC’s Section 174 has been invoked by the police.

A police official was quoted saying to Indian Express, “On Monday, passers-by at the bus terminus noticed he was in discomfort. Some among them dialed 108 for an ambulance and also alerted the police. He was taken to the Government Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital. He passed away on Tuesday night.” 

The late actor Lokesh Rajendran is survived by his wife and two children.

His father was quoted saying, “A month ago, I came to know there was some misunderstanding between them (Lokesh and his wife). Legal notice for divorce came from his wife four days ago. He was depressed. I last saw him (Lokesh) Friday, he said he needed some money and I gave it to him. He had told us he would start work as an editor.”

For those who are unware of this, more than 150 television series feature Lokesh Rajendran. Vijayakanth, Prabhu, and other notable Tamil actors appeared in 15 films with him. In Vidaathu Karuppu, the second season of the mystery anthology “Marmadesam,” he portrayed the role of “Raasu.” Five seasons of this mystery anthology ran from 1996 to 2001 on Sun TV and Raj TV.
