Tamannaah Bhatia Kicks Off Filming for ‘Ragini 3’ with Set Update

Actress Tamannaah Bhatia has officially begun shooting for the highly anticipated horror entertainer Ragini 3. On July 15, 2026, the actress shared an update on her Instagram Stories to announce that the project has officially gone on floors.
The social media picture features Tamannaah smiling on set while holding the film’s clapboard, which clearly marks “Day 01” and the shoot date of July 15, 2026. The slate also officially confirms the core crew driving the production, listing producer Shobha Kapoor, co-producers Amar Talwar and Kumar Taurani, director Shashanka Ghosh, and Director of Photography (DoP) Sudhakar Reddy Yakkanti.
Overcoming Production and Casting Hurdles
The journey to day one of filming has been closely followed by the industry, with Ragini 3 navigating several major development shifts before locks were finalized:
Lead Cast Shakeup: Early trade reports indicated that Nora Fatehi was initially in talks to headline the film. However, she reportedly exited the project in September 2025 due to tight scheduling commitments, including a conflicting international shoot in Los Angeles.
Directorial Change: Earlier this year, rumors circulated that the project was temporarily shelved after initial director Sahir Raza stepped away from the helm due to scheduling conflicts.
The makers quickly steadyed the ship, officially unveiling the revamped project with Tamannaah Bhatia and Junaid Khan locked in as the lead pair. Acclaimed filmmaker Shashanka Ghosh stepped in as the director, while Sahir Raza remains creatively associated with the project’s development.

What We Know So Far
Backed by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures (a division of Balaji Telefilms Ltd.), Ragini 3 is already generating massive curiosity among horror fans.
While the exact plot lines and supporting cast details are being strictly kept under wraps, the makers have high-conceptually billed the film as a unique “Date Night Horror.” With production now actively underway, more updates from the sets are expected in the coming weeks.
