Among the four movies released last Friday, you had the much hyped and delayed movie Tamanchey. Starring Nikhil Dwivedi, Richa Chadda, Damandeep Singh, and directed by Navneet Behal, the movie is based on the infamous real time gangster Abu Salem and his girl friend Monica Bedi. The movie was earlier scheduled to hit the theatres in August, however, the frequent delays led the movie release finally hit the theatres last Friday. The movie released in more than 800 screen, however, the response from the very first day was poor.
As per reports, the occupancy report went to around 3 to 5 percent, which is really very much low. The first day collection went to around 23 Lakhs, while the weekend turned a bit better will collections reaching to around 27 and 28 respectively. Thus the total figure went at around 78 Lakhs, which make the move flop at the box office. The week days would be bad considering the competition heat faced by the big banner movies like Bang Bang and Haider. It seems that these two movies are not going to leave the other small and mid budget movies. In other words, we can say that movies like Tamanchey and Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami were the victims of these two big banner movies.
