The infamous Aarushi Tavar case is back once again in the form of Talwar starring Irrfan Khan and Konkona Sen Sharma. The film by Megna Gulzar managed to get a decent reviews from most of the critics, as far as presenting the mystery of double murder before the audience and of course in gripping performance by the lead actors. However, it failed to attract the audience despite the much hype and public holiday on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti. The occupancy report in the morning show seemed too lethargic to discuss, however, as the shows went from morning to the evening, it seemed becoming better with time yet while comparing with Singh Is Bliing, the film seemed way behind.
As per reports, the first day box office collection for Talvar tolled to around 4 crores, which is as expected by the trade pundits. The reasons are obvious, this is the second time when we are getting the same case being covered in commercial cinema in Bollywood, and hence to attract the audience for the same in a short interval of time was a challenging task for the filmmaker. Secondly, with Akshay Kumar much hyped action comedy called Singh Is Bliing stole the show in a good note, making thing bad to worse.
