Last Friday, there were two releases, one was big and other was rot in the name of a sex comedy. Let’s talk about the former one, the much hyped film called Airlift. The film has Akshay Kumar and Nimrat Kaur in the lead role, which is based on the biggest ever human evacuation on earth during the gulf war in the early nineties. The film kept on doing a decent business, right from the day one to first weekend, keeping the ball rolling for a movie based on the Indian element in it. Also, considering the republic day release, the film managed to exploit the right time release giving it a good business.
As per reports, the first week box office collection for the film Airlift tolled to around 78.48 crores, which is much ahead than the sex comedy. The film managed to do better over the box office not just during the first weekend, but also during the weekdays and don’t forget the holiday of 26th January, which also helped the film to earn better. Soon, the film is going to expect to reach into the 100 crore club at least after the end of the second week of its release. However, the collection is likely to get hampered to some extent with the release of Saala Khadoos.
