Sanjay Dutt opened up about why he started doing drugs & his time in rehab

Sanjay Dutt is one of the most well-known actors of his generation. His allure is still strong, and fans enjoy seeing him on the big screen. The actor is now enjoying the success of KGF: Chapter 2, his most recent film. The actor has been on a promotional bender, leaving no stone unturned in his efforts to promote his picture. Sanjay was recently asked about his personal life and drug addiction in an interview with prominent YouTuber Ranveer Allahabadia. The actor spoke up about why he started doing drugs in the first place and talked about his time in treatment.

Sanjay Dutt revealed in the interview that he would consume drugs to appear cool. He explained that he was bashful, especially around women, so he pretended to be cool at first. He believed that if he did drugs, he could become a better person with the girls because he would be able to communicate with them. The actor later went to rehab for his addiction, and when he returned, he was dubbed “Charsi.” Even folks on the road called him that, he revealed. After that, he realised that something had to be done.

“Kuch karna padega (I have to do something about it). So I started working out. I wanted to break through that. And then from charsi, it became a guy with swag and ‘kya body hai’,” he added, reports Hindustan Times.

Meanwhile, Sanjay Dutt can be seen in KGF: Chapter 2 as a villain. Despite this, the actor enjoys a lot of support from his followers. When asked about his role, Sanjay says that his director’s conception of Adheera astounded him. “I have worked with 100s of directors and Prashanth comes in the top 10 list. He knows what he wants and I was amazed at the way he spoke about Adheera. I said a yes to it within a minute.”
