Tabu Joins Akshay Kumar’s ‘Bhooth Bangla’; Shares Exciting First Look

Bollywood fans have a reason to celebrate as the beloved actress Tabu makes her return to the horror-comedy genre following her popular role in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. She has joined the cast of Bhooth Bangla, alongside Akshay Kumar. This film marks the reunion of Akshay Kumar with director Priyadarshan after a 14-year hiatus, and Akshay expressed his excitement about the project on social media back in September. On Sunday, Tabu also took to social media to announce her involvement in this entertaining venture.

Tabu Kicks Off the Shoot Schedule

Previously, Akshay Kumar shared the news that Paresh Rawal would also feature in the film. As Tabu joined the star cast, she excitedly shared her news with her followers by posting a photo of the clapperboard with the caption, “Hum yahan bandh hain.” Reports suggest that the team is currently shooting in Jaipur, and Tabu has joined them for this schedule. Additionally, Tabu, who recently collaborated with Ektaa Kapoor on the successful Crew, received a warm welcome from the producer, who is also part of this horror-comedy. Ektaa commented on Tabu’s post, saying, “Aapka swaaagat hai always an honour, Tabu mam.”

Fans Excited for the Crossover

Fans are thrilled about this collaboration, which reunites Akshay Kumar and Tabu on-screen after nearly two decades. Many netizens are excitedly referring to it as a crossover between Manjulika from Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Dr. Aditya Srivastava, played by Akshay in the original Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Comments include “Manjulika meeting Dr. Aditya Shrivastava” and “full bhul bhulaiya 1 wali vibes also Priyadarshan sir direction.” Others have dubbed it “the Dream Cast” and speculated that it could be the real next installment of Bhool Bhulaiyaa.

For those unfamiliar, shooting for Bhooth Bangla began last week in the culturally rich city of Jaipur. The historic locales of Rajasthan are expected to provide a hauntingly beautiful backdrop for the film’s narrative. The crew has been filming in some of the city’s iconic spots, adding an authentic touch to the eerie yet comedic storyline.Directed by PriyadarshanBhooth Bangla is produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ektaa R Kapoor‘s Balaji Telefilms, alongside Akshay Kumar’s Cape of Good Films. The film is co-produced by Faara Sheikh and Vedant Baali. The story is penned by Akash A Kaushik, with the screenplay written by Rohan ShankarAbilash Nair, and Priyadarshan, and the dialogues also by Rohan Shankar. The film is set for theatrical release on April 2, 2026.
