Shanthakumaran Sreesanth is a former Indian cricketer and politician from Kerala. He was born on 6th February 1983. He did his schooling from his native place, while started playing cricket from his early days. He was a fast bowler since his initial days and got selected in the National squad in 2000 apart from getting selected for the prestigious group MRF Pace Foundation in Chennai. He then made his debut in domestic cricket playing in Goa in 2002 and 2003 claiming 22 wickets in seven matches. He did well in different local tournaments including Duleep Trophy and other tournaments in different seasons.
Soon he got selected in India – A side against New Zealand and played in Rajkot. In 2004, he continued in local cricket and soon turned a session by taking a hat-trick in one of the match in 2004. He kept on performing and getting different rewards including getting the man of the Series award as well and the leading wicket taker, which finally led him in the ODI series against the SL. His debut match was in Nagpur against Sri Lanka and had to face tough time by the SL skipper and others, however, he took two wickets at the end of the match. He was left out in the later matches but for considered in the last few matches. He then played with different countries including Pak, Australia, South Africa and England and took decent wickets to maintain his position in the International squad.
In 2006, S Sreesanth entered into test and played against different countries. He played the T20 World Cup in 2007 to be the part of the winning team led by Dhoni. He then entered into IPL playing with Rajasthan Royals and claimed a couple of wickets to win the finals against Chennai Super Kings 2008. He continued playing several years till he was banned in the year 2013 for match fixing. He remained the most controversial player for his wrong signals and excessive celebration after taking wickets. He was arrested and banned from all forms of cricket after getting alleged to match fixing but was later acquitted from the allegation in 2015. However, in 2017, the Kerala High Court restored the ban on his for lifelong. He later joined the BJP and even contested elections but lost in the general elections in 2014. He also appeared in a Bollywood film and has remained the participant of a couple of dance reality shows. As per the latest buzz, he will be in the Bigg Boss 2018 show.
