Black Panther sequel release confirmed on May 6, 2022

Black Panther, the movie that took away the hearts of a number of fans is once again returning with its second edition. After gaining a lot of applause from the global audience, the Hollywood film is bringing up some really good news for its global fan base, unveiling the final release date for the second version of the same.

As known, the film was also nominated for seven of the Oscars, including the best picture — a first for a Marvel superhero movie and taking home three of the Academy Awards, this one is definitely amongst the must watch movies of Hollywood.

All you fans out there, don’t forget to mark your calendars for the release date of ‘Black Panther 2’ as is confirmed by its makers. This film is set to hit the big screens on May 6, 2022.

Black Panther’s director Ryan Coogler has recently made an announcement on the same confirming the release date of this highly-anticipated sequel at D23 in Anaheim, California. Marvel Studios Chief Kevin Feige in a statement said that Coogler has delivered a treatment for the audiences, complete with a villain and a new title, however, none of them revealed any such details during the event.

The announcement of the release date has placed Black Panther 2 as the furthest out announced Marvel film, between ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ (November 5, 2021) and an unannounced film which is slated for July 29, 2022. Nevertheless, there is quite an uncertainty if Marvel will keep the release date for the same just two months after ‘Black Panther 2’ or not.

The other upcoming Phase 4 MCU films includes ‘Black Widow’ (May 1, 2020), ‘The Eternals’ (November 6, 2020), ‘Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings’ (February 12, 2021) and ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ (May 7, 2021).

‘Black Panther’, starring Chadwick Boseman as the superhero, was a massive success as it premiered in February 2018. The film also grossed around USD 700 million domestically and USD 1.3 billion across worldwide. This made it the second highest-grossing Marvel movie of all times domestically, behind ‘Avengers: Endgame’.

The film after its super success got nominated for seven Oscars, including the best picture — a first for a Marvel superhero movie — and took home three of the Academy Awards.

The film has even made history with its nearly all-black star cast. Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Forrest Whitaker, Michael B. Jordan, Danai Gurira, and Angela Bassett starred alongside Boseman.
