Suriya’s Kaappaan that was scheduled to release on August 30 has been postponed for the month of September.
Prabhas’s upcoming film Saaho is taking up the headlines these days and so has the film’s biggest release in India that is scheduled in the month of August. Produced on a lavish budget of Rs 250 crore, this film has been directed by Sujeeth. The film is all set for its worldwide release on August 30. It is being known that the change in the release date of Baahubali actor’s film scheduled from August 15 has infused some confusion amongst the producers and distributors in Kollywood and Tollywood.
The makers of Saaho later disclosed that they didn’t wish to compromise the quality of the film so, it was decided to postpone the film’s release from August 15 to August 30.
Suriya’s Kaappaan was also scheduled to release on the same date i.e. August 30 in Tamil. But, now reports have been heard that the Kaappaan makers are in a discussion to postponed its release in the month of September because of Saaho.
It has also been learnt that the director KV Anand and Lyca Productions of Kaappaan holding a discussion on the next suitable release date in September for the film. However, official announcement on the same is still awaited.
The change in the release date of Saaho has also affected Nani’s Gang Leader that was slated to release on August 30. Sources have revealed that the Tamil and Telugu producers and distributors are hoping that Saaho releases on time so that they can plan other releases, accordingly.
Kaappaan revolves around the story of Mohanlal and Suriya, who will be playing the roles of PM of India and first-rank SPG (Special Protection Officer) group respectively. As with the release of Saaho, most of the screens in Tamil Nadu and other parts of the country will remain occupied, the makers of Kaapaan are deciding on postponing their film to a new date.
On the other hand, Saaho’s promotions are going around in full swing on the social media.
