Sunny Leone Calls #MeToo movement as an Awareness Drive against women ill-treatment
We know the #MeToo wave commenced from the West and reached India in 2018. Many women were seen talking about the exploitation and ill-treatment on social media platform under this hashtag. The movement unmasked many celebrities in Bollywood who sexually harassed the ladies at the sets. It all started with the former Bollywood actress Tanushree Dutta hurling the accusation on Nana Patekar of sexual misconduct during the making of the film Horn Ok Pleassss in 2008.
Soon it stormed on the social media and many celebs from B Town like Vikas Bahl, Rajat Kapoor, Raj Kumar Hirani, Sajid Khan, Alok Nath, and Anu Malik were named and they lost their jobs. Recently Sunny Leone was seen talking about the #MeToo movement. She said that the movement allowed women to speak up against men who have harassed them. It came as an awareness drive and trapped all the men who took this issue so lightly.
While talking gon it, she said it allowed everyone to speak about the people and their atrocities against women. The actress seemed to have felt that things would change in the coming time as more and more people are seen talking about the atrocities with social media and their media outlets. The One Night Stand actress said that she is glad that message all over the importance of consent seems to have spread all over the world. Talking about her work, she is all set to be seen soon in Ragini MMS Returns Season 2. She will have a cameo in it as a paranormal expert in the ALTBalaji series.
