Vikram Bhatt Faces Fresh Allegations of Non-Payment by 1920: Horrors of the Heart Casting Director and Crew
Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt is back in the news and this time again his film 1920 made long back is making him feel its burns, As of now, he seems to be in judicial custody alongside his wife Shwetambari Bhatt over a ₹30 crore cheating and criminal breach of trust case, is now confronting new accusations related to unpaid dues from his 2023 film 1920: Horrors of the Heart.
Parag Chadha, the casting director of the film, has publicly accused Bhatt of failing to clear his professional fees. Following Chadha’s statement, several actors and crew members from the project have also come forward alleging similar non-payment issues.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Parag revealed that 100% of his fees remain unpaid despite years of persistent follow-ups. “100% of my fees is pending,” he said, explaining that he had previously stayed silent due to concerns about his livelihood and future career opportunities.
Parag added that the film’s makers acknowledged the outstanding payments via email but never settled the dues. “I have email confirmations acknowledging my dues. Despite that, no payment was made,” he stated. He further mentioned that he no longer expects to recover the money, calling it a “bad debt.”
He emphasized that speaking out is aimed at raising awareness rather than recovering funds. Following Parag’s revelations, other cast and crew members of 1920: Horrors of the Heart echoed similar complaints, including vendors and debutant actors who reportedly remain unpaid despite the film’s reported box office collection of ₹17–18 crore.
As of now, neither Vikram Bhatt nor his representatives have responded publicly to these allegations. These fresh claims add to the mounting legal challenges for the filmmaker, who remains in custody as investigations into the ongoing fraud case proceed.
