As expected, the Karan Johar Sequel – Student of The Year 2 did well at the box office. The film opened up with a collection of 12.08 Crores at the box office, while the second day was higher than the previous one crossing the first day in a decent fashion. The film enjoyed a decent buzz at the box office and as expected it bagged a good collection on first day. With positive word of mouth buzz surrounding the film, the film did well on Saturday as well.

As per reports, the second-day box office collection for Student of the Year 2 was around 14.02 Crores. With this collection, the total box office collection for the film went to around 26.10 Crores. However, the Sunday seems doubtful as the evening shows are likely to be affected with the final of the IPL match between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians. Perhaps this is the reason why Saturday did well as the audience who did not want to miss the IPL final had come and watched the film one day before.

The Dharma Productions’ film is likely to dip at the box office on Sunday for obvious reasons. The film has bagged mixed ratings from the critics but with decent collections on the first two days, the film is likely to prosper at the box office. It should be able to enter into the 100 Crore club by the end of the 2nd weekend. With lots of drama, dance and fun in the sequel, it has attracted the young audience to the theatres. However, Sunday would remain affected but the collection is likely to touch around 10 to 12 Crores. Let’s see how things would move but at the moment the picture seems rosy for the sequel.
