Now, with decent response from the media, the makers are enjoying the success of the film and have now planned to embark upon with a sequel. As per the latest buzz on this, the makers are now keen on to embark upon the sequel next year in 2010. The film will have the same star cast, which includes Rajkummar Rao, Katrina Kaif, Pankaj Tripathi, and Aparshakti Khurana.
With this star cast, the makers did all wonders at the box office and now with the same buzz, they are set to embark upon with the next part called Stree 2. The film is directed by Amar Kaushik, and it is was set up at a small town called Chanderi based in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. The story deals with an evil spirit called Stree who often abducts men during the night festival season. The film is based on the story of an urban legend called Nale Ba, which went viral in Karnataka in the nineties.
The film is produced by Dinesh Vijan, Krishna DK and Raj Nidimoru, while the film bagged 180 Crores at the box office. The sources close to the sequel claim that the film is in the scripting stage and is likely to hit the floor in 2020 while releasing in the same year. The expectations are high from the sequel, while the team simply wants the best to shoot. As said the core star cast would remain the same in the sequel as well. Meanwhile, talking about Rajkummar Rao, he is gearing up for the next film which happens to be a horror comedy called Rooh Afza, which is made under the banner called Vijan Maddock Films.
