Stree 2 Day 7 Box Office: Shraddha Kapoor-Rajkummar Rao Film Surpasses Brahmastra’s Lifetime Collection, Set to Cross ₹300 Crore in India

The horror comedy Stree 2, starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, has made a remarkable impact at the domestic box office within its first week of release. In a stunning achievement, the film surpassed the lifetime box office collections of Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva, which starred Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, within just seven days.

The box office numbers are impressive: Stree 2 earned Rs 8.5 crore from its preview shows, followed by Rs 51.8 crore on opening day, Rs 31.4 crore on day two, Rs 43.85 crore on day three, Rs 55.9 crore on day four, Rs 38.1 crore on day five, Rs 25.8 crore on day six, and approximately Rs 20 crore on day seven. By the end of its first Wednesday, the film had amassed a total of Rs 275.35 crore in India, according to trade portal Sacnilk, while Brahmastra finished its lifetime run with Rs 267.2 crore.

With its current trajectory, Stree 2 is on track to exceed the Rs 300 crore mark in India. In response to fans expressing disappointment over Shraddha Kapoor’s limited screen time, director Amar Kaushik explained in an interview with Bollywood Hungama that her restricted presence was crucial for enhancing her character’s impact. He emphasized that every scene in a film is crafted with the narrative in mind, rather than focusing on an actor’s screen time.

The film’s impressive box office performance is particularly noteworthy given that it premiered alongside three other films on Independence Day 2024: John Abraham and Sharvari Wagh’s Vedaa, Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein, and Chiyaan Vikram and Parvathy’s Thangalaan. While Vedaa and Khel Khel Mein struggled to reach the Rs 20 crore mark, Thangalaan managed to cross Rs 35 crore by its first Wednesday.

As of day seven, Vedaa collected a total of Rs 16.82 crore, Khel Khel Mein earned Rs 18.29 crore, and Thangalaan brought in Rs 35.56 crore at the domestic box office.

Produced by Maddock Films, Stree 2 is the sequel to the 2018 hit Stree, continuing the adventures of Vicky and his friends as they strive to protect Chanderi from the chaos unleashed by Sarkata. The film features a talented cast, including Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurana in key roles.
