Srikanth Box Office: Rajkummar Rao’s Film Outperforms ‘Madgaon Express’ and ‘Laapataa Ladies’ on Opening Day, Rakes in Rs 2.25 Crore

The highly anticipated Rajkummar Rao-starrer, Srikanth, hit the theaters on Friday, and the film has been receiving rave reviews from both critics and audiences. On its opening day, Srikanth managed to make an impressive collection of Rs 2.25 crore, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. This is a significant achievement, especially when compared to other films like Laapataa Ladies and Madgaon Express, which generated some buzz but failed to make a mark at the box office. Laapataa Ladies could only manage to earn Rs 75 lakh, while Madgaon Express made Rs 1.63 crore. Srikanth witnessed an overall occupancy rate of 12.14 percent across India on its release day, with a majority of viewers opting for the night shows.
In Mumbai, where there were a total of 484 shows, the occupancy rate stood at 13.25 percent. In Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR), with a staggering 763 shows, the occupancy rate reached 12 percent. Directed by Tushar Hiranandani, Srikanth is a biopic based on the life of Srikanth Bolla, the visionary founder of Bollant Industries. Srikanth’s story is particularly remarkable as he overcame immense challenges despite being visually challenged himself. In comparison to recent releases like Do Aur Do Pyaar starring Vidya Balan and Pratik Gandhi, and Dibaker Banerjee’s LSD2, Srikanth has had a strong start at the box office. While Do Aur Do Pyaar only managed to earn Rs 50 lakh on its first day, LSD2 started its box office journey with a mere Rs 15 lakh. Srikanth has also outperformed Rao’s previous releases.
His last theatrical release, Bheed, made Rs 40 lakh on its opening day, while HIT: The First Case made Rs 1.35 crore, according to Bollywood Hungama. Srikanth, backed by the esteemed production house T-Series, led by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar, features an ensemble cast including Jyothika, Alaya F, and Sharad Kelkar in pivotal roles. The film’s strong performances, compelling narrative, and inspiring story of Srikanth Bolla have resonated with audiences, contributing to its success at the box office. With positive reviews and impressive collections on its opening day, Srikanth is poised to continue its successful run in theaters. As more viewers discover the inspiring story of Srikanth Bolla, the film is expected to make a significant impact in the coming days.
