rani mukherji gets trolled on #meeToo

The past few months have seen the prominence of the social media campaign called #MeToo initiated at the microblogging site Twitter. Numerous B Town actresses have come forward speaking about their sexual harassment stories against the men who have mistreated them. Since the past few months, we have seen the said campaign has become the talk of the town. We have heard stories from actresses like Vinita Nanda and Sandhya Mridul to Chitrangada Singh, many of them were seen sharing their own experiences of harassment and abuse in the #MeToo movement in the country once it started with actress Tanushree Dutta alleging Nana Patekar for his inappropriate conduct way back in 2008.

Recently, Rani Mukherjee along with other Bollywood divas like Alia Bhatt, Anushka Sharma and Deepika Padukone along with others were present in a roundtable discussion for the said campaign at CNN News 18 conference room. Anushka claimed that people now have become introspective with this campaign. She said that now the ladies would find their workplace as their second sacred place with security and safety in it. She said that if women would not get this feeling, then they would not feel secure. Rani then got her chance to speak, and she said that its time for the women to feel powerful at workplaces so that whenever such situations come before them, they could easily back off. She concluded saying that she should be able to protect herself.

Deepika objected by stating that not all women are made like this so one cannot expect from all. Rani then said that self-defence and martial arts should be made compulsory for girls in school so that they can take their own responsibility. After these discussions and debate in the media channel TV show, Rani Mukherjee was thrashed at the social media when the Twitter users said called the statement of Rani as shameful one. Many criticized with similar comments. Many called her statement of learning martial arts to be awful and childish. Stay tuned to know more about it and others only with us.
