Sonu Sood announces his sister Malvika’s political entry ahead of Punjab Assembly Elections
Bollywood Sonu Sood, an actor and philanthropist, announced his sister Malvika’s entry into politics on Sunday. The actor said that she will run for the Punjab Assembly elections, which will take place early next year. The Dabangg, on the other hand, chose to keep their political affiliation a secret.
“Malvika is ready,” Sonu said at a press conference on November 14 at his residence in Punjab’s Moga, according to Indian Express. “Her dedication to helping others is unrivalled.” Sood informed reporters that his sister’s key priorities as she enters politics will be healthcare and employment.
Sood revealed that he recently met with Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and that he was in an open meeting with other political leaders, including Arvind Kejriwal of the AAP and Sukhbir Singh Badal of the Shiromani Akali Dal. The actor previously visited Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who named him a brand ambassador for the “Desh ka Mentors” school-based mentoring initiative.
“But it is a big decision of life when it comes to joining a political party, it is more about ideologies not casual meetings,” Sonu Sood continued, “We will reveal at right time about the party.”
Malvika is most likely to contest from the constituency of Moga, according to Sood. When asked Sonu Sood if he will be joining politics too, the actor highlighted, “First it is important to support Malvika, she is connected to our roots in Moga. I will reveal my own plans later.”
Sonu Sood, according to the Indian Express report, elaborated on Malvika’s ambitions, saying that ‘healthcare’ will be her main concern. If elected, the 48-year-old actor promises to ensure that people who require dialysis receive them for free.
