Sonakshi Sinha starrer movie Akira becomes the biggest female centric opener in Middle East

Believe it or not but the Sonakshi Sinha starrer movie called Akira has done much better in the Middle East market. The action drama movie has emerged out as the biggest female centric movie in the gulf region at the Box Office.

The film collected around 0.91 crores in UAE alone along with the Gulf markets. With such a collection, the film has beaten up the other women centric movies like Mary Kom, Neeja and NH10 with a collections going lower than the Akira in the said region.

Even in India, the film has performed in a decent fashion. The film is based on a Tamil movie, which can be called as a remake while it is directed by A R Murugadoss having Anurag Kashyap and Konkona Sen Sharma in the pivotal roles.
