SLB gives a special tribute to Lata Mangeshkar through Gangubai Kathiawadi

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film Gangubai Kathiawadi starring Alia Bhatt is around the corners to hit the screens on 25th February 2022. Ahead of its release, the makers have added a last-minute change in the film. Sanjay Leela Bhansali decided to dedicate the film to the legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar.

The addition in the film credits titles ahead of its journey to the Berlin Film Festival where Sanjay Bhansali and his leading lady will be accompanying the film. On this Sanjay Leela Bhansali said, “It’s my small humble tribute to a talent that has no limits, no boundaries.” Further, the director added, “Whenever I compose a song I think of Lataji. I ask my singers to follow her voice. She will remain my inspiration and guiding light for as long as I make movies.”

Lata Mangeshkar died on Sunday morning at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital, where she had been admitted for the previous 28 days. Dr Pratit Samdani, the veteran singer’s doctor, released a statement revealing that Lata didi died of multiple organ failure. The statement read, “It is with profound grief that we announce the sad demise of #LataMangeshkar at 8:12 am. She has died because of multi-organ failure after more than 28 days of hospitalization post COVID19.”
