Sitaare Zameen Par Cleared by CBFC, Set for June 20 Release

It was the Bollywood portal – Bollywood Hungama, which was the first site to report on Saturday, June 14, that the censor process for Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par had been stalled due to requests for cuts from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Both Aamir and the film’s director, R.S. Prasanna, were reportedly opposed to these cuts. Soon after the news came out, the fans of Aamir Khan were quick to share their thoughts and glee on social media. However, it has now been confirmed that the film has received clearance from the CBFC, according to an update from the filmmakers. The details of how both parties reached a consensus have not been disclosed, but the exciting news for Aamir’s fans is that the film will indeed be releasing in theaters on its scheduled date of June 20.
In addition to Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh, Sitaare Zameen Par features ten newcomers: Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar.
Produced under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions, the film boasts a talented team, with lyrics written by Amitabh Bhattacharya and music composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. The screenplay is crafted by Divy Nidhi Sharma, and the film is produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit, along with producers B. Shrinivas Rao and Ravi Bhagchandka. Directed by R.S.
