After having a smashing smart, Singham Returns in two weeks have collected 145 crores as total from India. Having entered into the 100 crore club in just four days, the Rohit Shetty’s sequel has managed to secure the total of 145 crore, while if we add the overseas collection the net collection worldwide touched to around 202.22 crores. The first week went smashing, however, in the second week; the collection really went down, thanks to the other releases like Mardani, which hampered the collection a great extent.
At the same time, the sequel was able to collect certain special records in its fold. For instance, it has turned out to be among the top movies, which become the Highest Grossing Movie in India. In the year 2014, it set a record of highest grosser movie beating holiday though it has to follow Salman Khan’s Kick. More than 50 percent of its collection was alone carried out in Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra and Gujarat. Despite getting an electrifying start, the collection of this movie went down sharply reaching the figure of 80 percent in the week.
In fact, the 15th August and the extended weekend helped the movie to garner the good collection over Box office. Moreover, there was not a single release the same Friday, which gave zero competition to the movie. Hence, the factors like the I Day, extended weekend holidays, and zero competition really kept the spirit of the movie at the top giving a good collection at the first week. However, with Mardani and other movies releasing the next weekend really hampered the collection to a great extent.
