Sikandar Makers Trim 14.28 Minutes Post Censor Clearance; Salman Khan’s ‘Ajeeb Dastaan Hai Yeh’ Cut by 11 Seconds – Full Details Inside!

The much-anticipated film Sikandar, starring Salman Khan, has been granted a UA 13+ certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) on March 21. Initially, the censor certificate indicated a runtime of 150.08 minutes (2 hours, 30 minutes, and 8 seconds). However, sources from the exhibition industry revealed that the final cut of the film measures 2 hours, 15 minutes, and 46 seconds.
According to Bollywood Hungama, the makers of Sikandar approached the CBFC after obtaining the initial certificate to inform them of the changes made to the film’s duration. This was necessary as the rules stipulate that any additions or deletions after the issuance of a certificate must be reported to the CBFC. Following this, the board approved the film with the newly implemented voluntary cuts.

Details of the Voluntary Cuts

The voluntary cut list indicates that 26 scenes have been trimmed, with 4 of these scenes exceeding 1 minute in length. Notable deletions include:

  • A scene with the dialogue “Offer aukat ke bahar tha”
  • 2 minute 26 second scene featuring the dialogue “Chaar miss call…chalo Rajkot”
  • 1 minute 12 second scene with the line “Usse leke aata hoon”
  • 4 minute scene containing the dialogue “Aa gaye aa gaye…bad husband”

The remaining cuts consist of scenes shorter than 60 seconds. For instance, a scene where Sanjay (Salman Khan) sings “Ajeeb Dastaan Hai Yeh” has been trimmed by 11 seconds, and a 56-second sequence with the dialogue “Aate rahenge ab toh” was completely deleted. Additionally, a Holi sequence and the dialogue “Yeh sirf sample tha” were reduced by 40 seconds. In total, 14 minutes and 28 seconds of footage was removed by the filmmakers, while 7 seconds of Sanjay’s reaction shots were added. After these adjustments, the final runtime of Sikandar is now 135.47 minutes (or 2 hours, 15 minutes, and 47 seconds). The CBFC approved these changes on March 24, and the film is set to release in cinemas on March 30. Stay tuned to know more about the Salman Khan film and others only with us!
