Sikandar Box Office: Salman Khan’s Film Trails Behind Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan with 88% Lower Footfalls

Sikandar, featuring Salman Khan in the lead role, was initially positioned as a celebration of Eid. However, since its opening day, the film has failed to perform as expected. While the Eid celebrations provided a temporary boost to its earnings, the overall performance has been underwhelming. In its first five days, the film crossed the ₹100 crore mark, but the footfall numbers have been disappointing. Here’s a detailed report on its performance.

Following the setbacks of Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan and the underwhelming response to Tiger 3, expectations for Sikandar, Khan’s debut collaboration with AR Murugadoss, were exceedingly high. Backed by Sajid Nadiadwala and with a budget of ₹200 crores, the film was anticipated to deliver impressive box office numbers. Unfortunately, those expectations have not materialized.While Sikandar did cross the ₹100 crore milestone, this outcome was far from what was anticipated. After the conclusion of the Eid festivities, the film experienced a significant drop in collections, raising doubts about its ability to reach the ₹150 crore mark. In terms of footfalls, Sikandar is falling considerably short compared to Jawan, the action-packed blockbuster starring Shah Rukh Khan.

As of now, Sikandar has earned ₹105.20 crore net at the Indian box office, resulting from approximately 43-44 lakh tickets sold nationwide. Yes, you read that correctly: the film has garnered a mere 43-44 lakh footfalls in India. For context, Jawan has had a historic run at the box office, currently holding the title of the highest-grossing Bollywood film with a net collection of ₹640.42 crore and an astounding 3.80 crore footfalls across India. In comparison, Sikandar lags significantly behind Jawan, with a staggering 88.68-88.42% fewer footfalls at the Indian box office.
