Sidharth Malhotra Reportedly in Advanced Talks to Join Saif Ali Khan in Race 4; Filming Set for Early 2025

The much loved Race franchise is making a highly anticipated comeback with Race 4, and excitement is building among fans. Producer Ramesh Taurani has announced that this installment will serve as a reboot, with the original star, Saif Ali Khan, returning to lead the action. In a thrilling new development, Sidharth Malhotra is reportedly in advanced discussions to join the cast alongside Khan.
As reported by Pinkvilla, Sidharth Malhotra has shown a strong interest in the franchise and has been in talks with Taurani for quite some time. A source close to the production revealed, “While Ramesh Taurani’s in-house writers are crafting the foundational plot, he is also collaborating with experienced writers and directors to create a compelling screenplay. As the writing progresses, he has started discussions with Sidharth Malhotra regarding the lead role opposite Saif Ali Khan.”
Production is set to commence in the first half of 2025, with the team currently focused on finalizing the script and establishing the framework for this exciting new chapter in the Race saga.
The Race franchise has always been characterized by its dynamic and often intense rivalries between its male protagonists. From the interactions of Saif Ali Khan and Akshaye Khanna in the original Race to the confrontations with John Abraham in Race 2 and Salman Khan and Bobby Deol in Race 3, the series has consistently delivered high-stakes drama.
Race 4 is poised to continue this legacy, featuring a compelling face-off between Saif and Sidharth. The insider provided insight, stating, “True to the franchise’s essence, Race 4 will showcase a clash between two strong-willed characters. It’s a quintessential two-hero film, where both characters will have shades of gray.”
In addition to the central conflict, Race 4 promises a robust ensemble cast, blending thrills and glamour. The source emphasized, “The film is being designed on a grand scale, and Ramesh Taurani and his team have great confidence in the franchise.”
Both Saif Ali Khan and Sidharth Malhotra are expected to finalize their involvement in the project once the script is completed, which is anticipated around November 2024. While both actors have expressed interest, their official commitment will hinge on their satisfaction with the storyline.
