Siddharth Roy Kapur is known producer in B Town and has worked with top production companies like Disney and UTV and now has his own banner. He is often seen making a wide range of films every year and considering his active participation in B Town, he remains an integral part of the industry. This is the reason why he was invited at the Shanghai International Film Festival the prestigious event that showcases key films including the ones from B Town.
He was invited at the said event as an important panelist over the International Producers’ Panel held at this film festival. It was on Sunday when it was titled, meet the film producers to check it what goes behind the curtain. Talking about the same, he said that the Shanghai International Film Festival happens to be an important forum for the global film community that allows to celebrate the cinema and then exchange the ideas. He then said that it was his pleasure to be part of the same.
He called China to be a vital and vibrant country like India that has a diverse film culture and market. Kapur is also the President of Producer’s Guild of India that gives him the complete authority and opportunity to participate in the event. He talked about the way the Chinese market has been ripe for the Indian films giving an example of Aamir Khan film Dangal that collected huge money at the box office in China. While being in the panel, he gave his views as to how challenging it is to make a film that remains accessible to the world.
