As the day dawned, the veteran filmmaker Mani Ratnam turned 64 today. The filmmaker was born on this day as Gopala Ratnam Subramaniam who is more known as Mani Ratnam. The filmmaker has come a long way doing his debut in direction in 1963 with Kannada venture Pallavi Anu Pallavi coming a long way in his filmmaking career.
The veteran director has been working in South Indian and B Town industry along with others for last 37 years and has given some of the best films in Tinsel Town including Roja, Nayakan, Dil Se, Bombay, Yuva, Saathiya, Guru, and O Kadhal Kanmani to name a few. He is among the god gifted filmmakers when it comes to filmmaking. He has bagged several National film awards for not less than six times in his career for various movies.
