This Friday one can find a solo release called Shorgul starring Ashutosh Rana and Jimmy Sheirgill in the key role. The film is a social drama made at the backdrop of Indian politics having a love story and other elements interwoven in it. The film however has managed to get a decent rating, but considering the low promotion of the film, it has failed to get a low buzz in the media.
Despite the film making controversy in the media, the makers were unable to mobilize the same to create a good pre-release buzz for the audience. Now, if you look at the opening of the film, the occupancy report in the morning and afternoon shows remained dull tolling to 5 to 8 percent, which however, went on for a boost to some extent but still failed to give the rosy picture at the end of the day.
As per reports, the first day box office collection of Shorgul tolled to around 1 crore, which is still an okay figure for makers of the movie. However, the film has a challenge do a better business this weekend since Sultan is releasing two days in advance on 6th July at the festive occasion of Eid, which will definitely going to hamper the collection of Shorgul in a big way.
So, this movie has a fair chance to make it big especially when it is a solo release and other film released on this day in the form of On Kuttonis less likely to give any return. Let’s see how things move in the coming day, but as of now the story isn’t that good for the film and the next two days would be crucial depending upon the word of mouth buzz for the film.
