Actress Geeta Siddharth Kak died in Mumbai on the evening of 14 December. The actress is best known for her performance in M.S. Sathyu ‘s 1973 classic ‘Garam Hawa’.
Geeta made her debut in Gulzar’s 1972 film Parichay, which also stars Jeetendra and Jaya Bhaduri. She was a well-known face on the Bollywood screen in the seventies and eighties. Geeta worked in films like ‘Sholay’, ‘Trishul’, ‘Disco Dancer’, ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’, ‘Shaukeen’, ‘Earth’, ‘Ek Chadar Maili Si’, ‘Gaman’ and ‘Doosra Aadmi’.
She married television host-producer and documentary film producer Siddharth Kak, best known for the popular TV show ‘Surabhi’, which aired on Doordarshan from 1990 to 2001. Geeta was the art director of the show.
Antara, the daughter of Geeta and Siddharth Kak, is a documentary filmmaker. Apart from acting, Geeta is also known for her social work.
