Shararat was a huge hit on Star Plus in the early 2000s. It was a light comedy revolving around light fantasy elements. The show was highly popular among the young audience. The leading role was played by the actress Shruti Seth. The show had gone off air but now on popular demand, it is launching it next season on Star Plus. It was loosely adapted on the theme of English comedy Sabrina- the witch.
Shararat was based on the concept of magic. There were three fairies – mama fairy, grandma fairy and daughter fairy. The leading daughter fairy was played by Shruti Seth and grandma fairy was played by Farida Jalal. It was first of its kind teenage comedies on the Indian Channel. The show’s cast was also highly popular with Shruti Seth getting most of the attention. Her love interest was played by Karanvir Bohra. Her best friend and competitor’s role was played by Simple Kaul. The adorable Daisy Irani played the role of mama fairy. Shobha Anand and Mahesh Thakur played the role of the parents.
