It is indeed a big day in B Town when the most anticipated movies – Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Shivay have released. Both the movies have their own buzz in the media, however, the former seems to have overtaken the latter for obvious reason. Right from the advance booking to the morning and after occupancy report and the final evening and night shows, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil has simply dominated over the multiplexes as compared to Shivaay.
In fact, even the single screens too have managed to give the film a decent collection. So, looking at the first day box office collection for Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, the figure comes out to be impressive as 17 crores. The trade pundits are expecting a steady surge in the coming first weekend which will last till the Diwali week. In other words, the film has overshadowed in a big way and it will continue to do so in the coming days as well.
The other film releasing this day is Shivay, which seems to have done better over the small screen. It is a massy film with loads of action and emotions appealing the single screen crowd the best and certainly not the multiplex crowd which becomes the key reason to see the lower collection of the film. The occupancy of Shivaay remained similar in the afternoon unlike found in the morning shows, while in the evening it was some escalation seen.
As per reports, the first day box office collection for Shivaay tolled to around 7 crores only, which is way below the other movie releasing the same day. Well, the film’s review too was mixed, which failed to garner the kind of word of mouth buzz in the media. However, the trade pundits feel that the film will witness some surge in the coming first weekend thus giving a decent collection at the end of the same.
