Shilpa Shukla calls Mentalhood an interesting show with complete relevance

Shilpa Shukla is starring a prime role in upcoming ALTBalaji web series Mentalhood. She plays the role of a mother and her career orientations. ALTBalaji has recently announced its latest web series Mentalhood which is also going to mark the digital debut of Karisma Kapoor.

Produced by Ekta Kapoor, the series, Mentalhood has introduced characters of Tillotama Shome, Shruti Seth, Shilpa Shukla and Dino Morea’s characters. The team has recently kick-started its shoot in Mumbai, and the web show, Mentalhood is expedited to launch in the coming months.

Shilpa Shukla, who has been a part fo the fame game after working with Shah Rukh Khan’s Chak De! India, will be playing the role of a modern-day working mother in Mentalhood. Talking about her role and experiences, Shilpa shared a lot in an exclusive conversation with indianexpress.com.

Conversing on Mentalhood with Indian Express, she said, “It is a very interesting and relevant subject. Every mother goes through these crazy times. When I got to know about the concept, I was really excited. Also, it has a good ensemble cast. I had a wonderful time working with them. The series is about different types of moms.”

On being asked about what kind of a mother she is playing in Mentalhood, she said that she will be featuring the role of workaholic women who tries her best to handle both her career and kids. She is a little materialistic with the belief that money can buy everything. It comes as a revelation to her as she comes to understand that the reality isn’t the same.

The best part about Mentalhood is that it is perfectly peppered with a lot of humour on the number of relevant essential issues of our lives and she feels the makers have simply nailed it.
