Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra arrested in porn apps case; police says businessman is the ‘key conspirator’

Raj Kundra, the husband of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and a well-known businessman, has been arrested by the Crime Branch in a case involving the creation of pornographic films and their distribution through several applications. He looks to be the main conspirator, according to reports.

“The crime branch registered a case in February about the creation of pornography films and publishing them through some apps. After investigation, we have arrested Raj Kundra in the case as he appears to be the key conspirator of this. We have sufficient evidence regarding the case,” stated the press release issued by Mumbai Police.

The property cell called Kundra, and he arrived to the office at 8 p.m. According to a police officer, he was arrested after being questioned.

Previously, the property cell had detained Umesh Kamat, who stated in his statement that he used to work for Kundra’s company.

Kamat lives in Vashi, Navi Mumbai, and his name came up during the interrogation of Gehana Vasisth, a model and actress who was arrested on February 6. According to the police official, Kamat used to work as a coordinator for a UK-based firm and used to capture filthy recordings from Vasisth and transfer them to the UK-based organisation, which then uploaded them to an app called “hotshots.”

The network was discovered on February 4 when a property cell officer stormed a bungalow in Madh district of Malad (West) and arrested five people for allegedly enticing young ladies and men into web series and short films under the guise of offering roles. Instead, they were allegedly compelled to perform in a pornographic film.

The accused subsequently posted the indecent movies to mobile apps and several other pornographic websites. Initially, cops detained individuals during a raid. Rowa Khan alias Yasmeen, who claimed to be a producer-director, photographer Monu Sharma, and creative director Pratibha Nalawade, as well as two actors, Arish Shaikh and Bhanu Thakur, were among those arrested.

Vasisth’s role in the making and uploading of obscene videos on the mobile app was also discovered, and she was arrested in the case. The police seized many tools worth Rs. 5.68 lakh, including the accused’s cell phones, that were used for shooting in the residence. Khan runs a smartphone application called ‘HotHit Movies,’ where she uploads porn videos, according to investigators.
