Shershaah Trailer: Sidharth Malhotra essays Vikram Batra’s role with utmost honestly

On the eve of Kargil Vijay Diwas (July 26), makers have dropped the trailer of Sidharth Malhotra’s much awaited film Shershaah.

The film is based on the life of Captain Vikram Batra, who died during the war in 1999. Sidharth Malhotra with the team of the film reached Kargil to launch the trailer.

The trailer looks promising and Sidharth’s full action mood makes the fans even more excited. The trailer starts and we see Sidharth Malhotra reporting as Captain Vikram Batra. The two-and-a-half-minute trailer shows various asparagus of Vikram Batra’s life. It also introduces us to Kiara Advani who plays Sidharth’s love interest. The trailer also shows the glimpse of Former Prime Minister, the late Atal Bihari Vajpayee addressing the nation during the war. His famous speech, in which he said, “Hum shanti ki raksha ke liye shakti ka pradarshan karna jaante hain (We can show our strength to protect our peace).”

Earlier, Sidharth had shared the film’s teaser and wrote on Instagram, “Heroes live on through their stories. We are honoured to bring to you the true story of the Kargil War hero, Captain Vikram Batra (PVC).A film which has had a long journey me and a real life character I am proud to play.”

The film is directed by Vishnu Vardhan and jointly produced by Dharma Productions and Kaash Entertainment. Apart from Sidharth and Kiara Advani, Shershaah also features actors including Shiv Panditt, Raj Arjun, Pranay Pachauri, Himanshu Ashok Malhotra, Nikitin Dheer, Anil Charanjeett, Sahil Vaid, Shataf Figar and Pawan Chopra.

Speaking about the film Karan Johar said, “Shershaah, the true story of a war hero whose indomitable spirit and bravery brought victory to our nation. His sacrifices are invaluable and his life is an inspiration for generations to come.”

Shershaah will be releasing on Amazon Prime Video on August 12.
