Shernaz Patel is a known theatre and film actor. He was born and brought up in Bombay in a Gujarati family surrounding by a theatre environment. Her parents are the veteran stage actors called Ruby and Burjor Patel who gave her the exposure to theatre the best. She did her schooling at Fort Convent School wherein she participated in a number of plays including the one directed by Pearl Padamsee. She did her graduation from Elphinstone College followed by doing Masters in acting from the prestigious institute called Royal Scottish Acadmy of Music and Drama. In other words, she had a good launch pad from her parents.

Her career in acting started with the play called The Diary Of Anne Frank in the year 1984. She soon was seen in a number of English plays under the group of Rage Theatre Group based in Bombay, which she was associated with Rahul Da Cunha and Rajit Kapur. As far as her career is concerned, she started her debut in B Town with the TV film called Janam in 1986 by Mahesh Bhatt along with Kumar Gaurav. In the year 1992, she performed in the English play called Love Letters for the first time, wherein she worked with Rajit Kapoor directed by Rahul Da Cunha. The play is still popular is performed. In the year 2008, after being active in B Town returned to Soap Operas.

The next year she was seen in Mira Nair film called Little Zizou, followed by Imtiaz Ali’s film Rockstar in 2011 and later seen in Aamir Khan starrer film Talaash in the year 2012 by Reema Kagti. She then was seen in Time Noida festival performing live with Rajit Kapur and Neil Bhoopalam in the year 2014. Some of her B Town films include Black, Guzaarish, I Am, Lamhaa, Hum Tum Aur Ghost, Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal, Big Brother and Dum Kaata to name a few. As far as awards are concerned, she was rewarded with Star Screen Awards for Best Supporting Actress for the film called Guzaarish starring Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
