Irrfan Khan Next Movie Shoojit Sircar’s Udham Singh Biopic

Ace Actor Irrfan Khan who is undergoing treatment for cancer in Europe is again in a news for Shoojit Sircar’s new movie where he will play the role of Udham Singh. This news should come as a big relief to the fans of  Irrfan Khan and all the critics who loved the acting of Irrfan. Director Shoojit Sircar said in an interview recently that Irrfan, who has been battling with a neuroendocrine tumour and is undergoing treatment in Europe, is doing fine and is responding well to the treatment. He also said that Irrfan will star in his upcoming project, a biopic on freedom fighter Udham Singh. Irrfan is expected to play the role of Udham Singh, who had thrashed Michael O’Dwyer, the former Lieutenant Governor of Punjab in British India in 1940, to counter the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

According to Director Shoojit Sircar, “I’ve been speaking to both Irrfan and his wife (Sutapa Sikdar), he’s responding well to the treatment and trying to cope with the knowledge that he’s battling NeuroEndocrine tumour by treating the recuperation in Europe like a short and unexpected holiday.

Few days ago, Irrfan had tweeted about his upcoming movie ‘Karwaan’. Directed by Akash Khurana and produced by Ronnie Screwvala, the film will release on 10th August 2018. Earlier, reports did round that Ranbir Kapoor being roped in for Udham Singh biopic. However, Sircar turned down the rumours during the shooting of his recent release ‘October’. Meanwhile, Shoojit Sircar and Irrfan have worked together in Piku which also stars Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan was a Smash HIT at Box Office and mints up over 80 Cr net in India. If everything goes well, then Udham Singh biopic would be their second project together. The film is believed to go on floors by the end of this year.
