Shefali Shah and Shabana Azmi to feature in a web series soon

shabana-bannerAfter the amazing success of Delhi Crime, Shefali Shah has once again proved her efficiency in playing even the strongest roles. Once again, the talented actress is joining hands with the veteran actress, Shabana Azmi for an upcoming web series. Shabana Azmi and Shefali Shah will be seen together playing a shared role in an upcoming web series, which is supposed to be a medical thriller and will be produced by Vipul Shah.

In the upcoming series, Shefali is playing the role of a doctor, while Azmi will be playing the role of the owner of the hospital. The two last had starred together in Aparna Sen’s 2005 film “15 Park Avenue” but did not share screen space together.

Mozez Singh, who directed Vicky Kaushal-starrer “Zubaan”, is co-writing this series with “Aligarh” fame Ishani Banerjee.

Talking about this amazing duo joining hands together, Vipul Shah said in a statement to a popular media platform, “It’s a web series for OTT platform and it will have multiple seasons. The hard-hitting series will address all the wrong doings and scams in the medical world. And it’s a real joy to have two very talented actresses, Shabana ji on-board along with Shefali Shah.”

Before this, Shefali, has won a lot of critical acclaim for her strong role and mind blowing performance in Netflix original “Delhi Crime” mentioned that she is simply thrilled to collaborate with Azmi for a perfect role play.

On this account, she said, “It’s an extremely important and pertinent topic that any sensitive person would relate to and has to be shown. Besides that creatively it’s a huge high for me. To be a part of a powerful story and playing an extremely complex character and it’s my privilege and honour of work with Shabana ji. It’s my first time with her and I can’t wait to dive straight into it. And to top it Vipul’s producing it.”

The makers are however, yet to lock the director and the title for the web series.
