The most awaited film of 2015 – Shandaar is gearing up for its release this Dusshera. The film starring Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt is directed by the Queen fame director Vikas Bahl, while its trailer has been released just recently. On the face of it the trailer gives an impression of a blend of Band Baaja Baraat and Khoobsurat. The characters from these two films have been clubbed together to make a cocktail of films giving Shandaar. Shahid is playing the character called Jaginder Joginder who by profession is a wedding planner. He is seen planning the wedding of Alia’s elder sister.
The trailer starts with a horsing sequence, which bring the lead characters together. Vikas Bahl as the name itself demands loads of expectation from the director, thanks to the grand success of his previous film Queen, the trailer at one go simply perplexes the audience though doesn’t really disappoint the viewers. Alia Bhatt- the Karan Johar’s favorite seemed the same pretty and ridiculously chirpy in the trailer, which somewhere gives an impression that she has walked out from the sets of her previous year film Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya, while Shahid on the other side appears sharp having rugged off avatar virtually carrying the effortless charm.
You find the things bubbling along rather in a pleasing note especially when Shahid Kapoor is seen with his real father Pankaj Kapoor. The two are seen with a tumultuous relationship. Suddenly, you find a golden boot followed by a golden suit, golden family and not to forget the golden limousines. Things vividly change from playful sequences o the caricaturish avatar as Sanjay Kapur steps in with a giant and his supershiny family and soon we hear about a business deal over the banquet tables wherein moustaches are drawn over the faces having frilly purple panties appearing at the dinner plates. This could appear very much amusing though, but somewhere seen from any film of Anees Bazmee.
The movie seems to have been made with hyper color mood by Anil Mehta hence getting the mills and boons feel in the characters of Alia and Shahid is very much inevitable. It also reflects in the background, which vividly dictate that it’s the Disney’s creation. On the other side, you can even catch Alia in certain hot sequences adding certain oomps factor in the trailer. The filmmaker has smartly used the hot aspect of the actress in the film as seen in the trailer. In nutshell, Shahid is seen with much assured character, while Alia in the effervescent and glamorous mode with the fun elements from Pankaj Kapoor.
