Actor Nandita Das has been picked to play a challenging role of five different hues in the upcoming film, ‘Albert Pinto Ko Gussa Kyon Aata Hai’ under the direction of Soumitra Ranade. The film is a remake of Saeed Mirza’s cult classic with the same name however; it’s featured Manav Kaul as the iconic Albert Pinto.

Among the five other roles, one of the roles played by Nandita Das is of Stella, Pinto’s supportive girlfriend. Throwing light on the character of Stella, Nandita said, “Stella is an ordinary person. But her simplicity and resilience is very relatable.” However, she wasn’t very keen about sharing much talk about the other 4 characters, stating, “These five characters appear in a unique and unpredictable manner and it wouldn’t be fair to divulge too much.”
About her role preparations, Nandita said, “A character is always developed by the collaboration of the actor and director. Soumitra had something very particular in his mind and therefore it was my effort to bring that to the fore.” Praising the director of the film, Ranade, she said, “He deserves it as not many people have such ethics and pure intentions. He is also a lot of fun to work with. I have great amount of respect for him, even though we have our disagreements.”

Further adding Nandita said, “I loved working with not only Soumitra, but the entire cast and crew. Manav and Saurabh and also others were all so lovely. It was such a breezy affair!”  Nandita Das has recently directed the much famed film, ‘Manto’ which was even premiered at the Cannes 2018, featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and had received a worldwide acclaim.

When asked on her preference between acting and direction, she said, “Films have provided me with an opportunity to share my concerns and have conversations about things that matter. Acting is far less demanding than direction. While direction is more time consuming and challenging, it is more fulfilling, creatively and emotionally. But I feel no reason to choose between them as I would like to do both.”
