The R Balki Movie Shamitabh got a steady start after releasing last Friday at theatres. The Amitabh Bachchan and Dhanush starrer film – Shamitabh had a dull start this Friday with the figure 3.5 crores, however, as expected the figures escalated in the coming two days, which pushed a decent figure at the box office. As per reports, the first weekend box office collection for Shamitabh went to around 13.34 crores, which is indeed a good amount. However, if you compare PA the earlier movie of R Balki, the first weekend collection tolled to around 17 crores.
Perhaps the reason why the movie Shamitabh was not able to get a good start is because the filmmaker is known to make movies for certain selective crowd. Unlike his earlier movies, Shamitabh also renders entertainment value to certain niche audience, which may not be that big to attract audience for the crowd. The reports suggest that the movie did better over the multiplexes in the urban areas and is likely to pick up with every passing day. The occupancy report of around 40 percent is good enough to make the word of mouth buzz in the media and among the audience to catch the film.
