Since his arrest by the Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB) on a cruise ship on October 2, Aryan Khan has been making headlines. While Shah Rukh Khan’s son has filed for bail on multiple occasions since then, it has been denied by the Sessions Court, prompting a hearing in the Bombay High Court today.
On October 4, the celebrity kid applied for bail for the first time. Following court hearings on October 8 and October 20, he was denied bail both times. Today, former Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi was arguing SRK’s son’s case.
According to the latest sources, Aryan Khan’s detention has been extended by another day, with the hearing for his bail before the Bombay High Court set for tomorrow, October 27. The hearing will resume at 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Mukul Rohatgi claimed at today’s bail hearing that Aryan Khan was a “young man” who should be sent to rehab rather than being held in jail. For the uninitiated, the 23-year-old star kid has been in detention since his arrest on October 3 by Narcotics Control Bureau investigators who joined the ship in disguise. On October 8, he was transferred to Mumbai’s Arthur Road jail.
Khan’s lawyers have insisted that no narcotics were discovered on him. He knew about charas placed in his companion Arbaaz Merchant’s shoe, according to the special anti-drugs court that denied him bail last week, and this amounted to “conscious possession.”
NCB recovered recovered 13gm of cocaine, 21gm of charas, 22 pills of MDMA and 5gm of mephedrone and more than Rs 1.3 lakh cash from the cruise where they arrested Aryan Khan.
