The fact that Shah Rukh Khan was not recognized by the international media was the fashion event’s talking topic.
A widely shared video shows Shah Rukh Khan on the red carpet and then approaching a reporter. He is asked to introduce himself by the reporter. Shah Rukh Khan responds, “Hello, I’m Shah Rukh,” in surprise. He is then asked to introduce his designer and the evening’s attire by the guy behind the camera. He continues by introducing Sabyasachi and discussing the outfit’s inspiration.

Another video shows SRK being asked what it’s like to be the first Indian male Bollywood star to attend the Met Gala and make history. Looking at the designer beside him, the actor modestly responded, “I don’t know about history, but I’m nervous, I’m excited, and Sabyasachi here…” He further added, “He convinced me to come.”
The actor acknowledged that he is too shy to attend. In response to the interviewers’ compliments and jokes about the blue-red carpet, which they said made Sabyasachi feel less anxious, SRK said, “I’m absolutely alright.”
